Papers to boycott Britney Spears?

by omgwtf 10. July 2009 11:56

That's right. Britney Spears is set to perform in Stockholm captial on July 13th. FUN!

However... 4 major Swedish newspapers have said they will not send photographers to the show unless Britney Spears changes some of the restrictions listed in her contract.

The contract does not allow papers to resell the pictures and it states they cannot publish the pictures more than 30 days after the concert. What?! That's lame.

Jonas Brothers on Rolling Stone

by omgwtf 24. June 2009 11:40

Really? Sorry, not a fan of their music or of them. Shouldn't they be on the cover of Teen Beat or something?

That aside, the Jonas Brothers are on the new cover of Rolling Stone, and here's a bit from their interview, though this won't make me buy the magazine, as it seems like a rather dull interview:

“We have an operation around us that we run,” Kevin tells Rolling Stone. “It’s not run for us, or dictated to us. Everything that we do, we sign off on.”

But even with a strong operation and a lot of hard work, the band knows that teen idols rarely make the leap to “serious artist.” “Personally, I’m not in the band to say, ‘Hey, you need to respect us, take us seriously,’ because that’s kind of stupid,” Joe tells RS. “We’re doing it because we love it, and we don’t care what age group we attract. If they like our music, they like our music, and if they don’t, fine. We don’t need you like our music.”

And I'm glad they don't need people to like their music. Good to know. Jackass. If the collective "you" did not like their music, they wouldn't be gracing the cover of anything at all. So shove that one, dude.

Fox responds to Idol voting F up

by omgwtf 27. May 2009 18:38

So, as I'm sure you've all heard by now, some AT&T employees (major sponsor of American Idol) gave some phones to people who were voting for Kris Allen (the winner), and that's not right... blah blah blah.

Anyway, here's Fox's response:

“Fox and the producers of 'American Idol' are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to insure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

It was also mentioned that the race between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert wasn't even close. So whatever. I don't particularly think of this as a big deal... honestly, I can't even believe are still watching that show. But in case it matters to you, there you have it. Fox's response. Personally, I'm just glad the show is over!

Eminem tops the charts

by omgwtf 27. May 2009 13:44

With his new album Relapse selling 608,000 copies in its first week, pushing Green Day out of the #1 spot (they slid to #2).

Well good for him, but I believe reading somewhere that it got shitty reviews, and I don't recall liking anything I've heard off it so far. So I, for one, will not be adding to the number of copies sold.

Will you buy it?
