I can't imagine watching a 3D movie at home - the tv I have is just too small for me to feel like it's worth it. But for everyone out there who has a bit TV, this is pretty exciting. Granted, it would be more exciting if it were a few weeks (even months) away, but a few years is just going to have to be good enough.
"Panasonic doesn't think that 3-D, full HD for the home is far away at
all," said Yoshi Yamada, chairman and chief executive of Panasonic Corp
of North America during his CES address on Wednesday. "We are discussing this now with other major manufacturers and Hollywood studios."
We'll see how this creation goes. For it to really work, the big guys now would have to work WITH those developing the 3D format in order to completely avoid another war. This article mentions the Blu-ray versus HD war and also mentions the VHS versus Betamax war (ha, beta). So let's all hope the big guys are all willing to work together to make this really happen!
Good picture, eh? Can you guess who the artist is?!
