Chrome - the Google OS

That's right everyone, Google said yesterday (Tuesday) that they are planning the launch of their operating system, Chrome, sometime in the second half of 2010.

In a statement, Google said "We hear a lot from our users, and their message is clear: computers need to get better." They said that Chrom is "our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be."

The initial OS will be targeted at netbooks. Google also said that Chrome will be making use of open source programmng. That means that developers OUTSIDE of Google can develop add-ons and create things for the OS, as opposed to keeping every little think in house.

FUN! it's nice to sort of, almost, kinda have a launch date for it!
