I love Oprah but...

I gotta tell you, after the debacle with A Million Little Pieces and now the more recent tale of the husband and wife meeting in a Nazi concentration camp, Oprah has got to GET WITH THE PROGRAM! I have a million stories about the insanity of life (not getting into details here, but it's nutty), and she keeps picking the lies! It just amazes me!

I know her heart is in the right place, but Oprah Winfrey finally came out and said how disappointed she was that the story Herman Rosenblat told her about meeting his wife in a concentration camp was a lie. I just don't get it. Doesn't Oprah have a million people working for her?! Why can't she find the real stories?! I have mounds of real stories that would bring an insane amount of tears. Thing is, people with real stories just don't want to tell them. The kickback of coming out and telling the truth about what a horrible person you were or what you really went through is heartbreaking. If someone went through some insane stuff, it's PERSONAL. They don't necessarily want to share it on Oprah. I'm sorry she was let down (again). It's a bummer. But if she wants the real stories, she needs to talk to the real people, not the ones who are trying to make money off what they went through. It's just sad.

I know, my opinion can be a little crazy. But when you watch shows about the Holocaust and about what happened and see the interviews with the people who were there and went through it, it is heartbreaking; but the people on the documentaries are not there to make money. They are there to share their stories and hopefully make sure something like that never happens again. (And don't make me get into the idiots who swear it didn't happen. They can suck it. Seriously. It did and everybody turned a blind eye for way too long, so don't even get me started on that one because it pisses me off to no end.)

Anyway, sorry you were duped again, Oprah. But tear jerkers simply do not equal reality. You want reality, talk to someone who work a 9 to 5 job and appears normal. I bet their reality blows away that of any book. They're just not dumb enough to throw life out there for ridicule.

I know, sometimes I manage to just speak my mind. Let me know what you think... I'm always open to full on discussions. Seriously.
