Vudu is the first on-demand service offering HD movies you can download TO OWN rather than just to rent.

Vudu has agreements with Magnolia Pictures, Kino, and FirstLook, among others. They are going to start with 50 HD titles, and I'm sure will rapidly expand.

If you buy Vudu HD movies, you can either purchase a Vudu box to store your movies or store them in the Vudu Vault, which is a free online storage option.

Movies on Vudu.com cost anywhere from $13.99 to $23.99.
